Job Description
AetherDesign Labs is a boutique product design studio that partners with tech startups and corporates to craft delightful, intuitive digital experiences. We focus on solving real user problems through rigorous research, elegant interaction design, and pixel-perfect execution. We are hiring a Remote UI/UX Designer to join our distributed team and lead design work across several client products, including fintech apps, health platforms, and e-commerce interfaces. The ideal candidate combines strong visual design sensibilities with user research and prototyping skills, and can take concepts from discovery through to production-ready designs. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers to shape product direction, validate assumptions, and deliver interfaces that are accessible, performant, and delightful.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to inform design decisions and validate solutions.
Create user personas, journey maps, and information architecture to guide product direction.
Produce wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for web and mobile interfaces using tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
Design responsive UI components with attention to accessibility, performance, and consistency.
Build and maintain a scalable design system and component library to accelerate delivery across teams.
Collaborate with engineers to ensure feasible implementations and to maintain design integrity during development.
Run A/B tests and analyze qualitative and quantitative feedback to iterate on designs.
Present design rationale and findings to clients and stakeholders; incorporate feedback into actionable changes.
Document interaction patterns, guidelines, and handoff assets for efficient engineering implementation.
Mentor junior designers and contribute to the studio’s design culture and best practices.
Career Overview
UI/UX design at AetherDesign Labs is a role that blends creative craft with product thinking. You’ll be expected to own entire feature design cycles from research to launch and iteratively improve products based on user behavior and analytics. Working at a studio that services multiple industries gives you the opportunity to broaden your portfolio quickly—fintech flows, healthcare workflows, and e-commerce funnels all require different UX heuristics, and you’ll gain hands-on experience across them. This position is ideal for designers who enjoy both strategy and execution and who want to influence product roadmaps rather than only execute isolated screens.
Career Growth Opportunities
AetherDesign Labs invests in internal growth and hands-on mentorship. Successful designers can progress into roles such as Senior Product Designer, Design Systems Lead, or Head of Product Experience. There are also opportunities to transition into product management or to lead client engagements as a Design Director. The studio actively supports attendance at international design conferences, paid certifications, and cross-disciplinary learning (research, data analysis, front-end basics) to expand career horizons.
Salary & Benefits
AetherDesign Labs offers a competitive monthly salary between ₦350,000 – ₦500,000, depending on experience and portfolio strength. Benefits include a monthly internet stipend, paid professional development (courses, workshops, conference access), health support allowance, flexible working hours, and performance bonuses. Designers receive access to paid licenses for top tools (Figma/Adobe), a structured mentorship program, and opportunities to work on client projects that are portfolio-worthy. The studio embraces remote work but supports occasional in-person team retreats and collaborative design sprints.
