Role Overview
The Remote Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and providing advisory support to clients.
This role requires a detail-oriented, analytical, and trustworthy individual with proven experience in financial management and modern accounting tools.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.

Reconcile bank statements and ensure proper bookkeeping.

Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with labor laws.

Prepare and file tax returns in line with Nigerian tax regulations.

Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.

Provide advisory services on budgeting, cost reduction, and financial planning.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Use accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero) for efficient financial management.
Required Skills and Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or CPA) is highly desirable.

2–4 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably with a consulting firm.

Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and financial regulations.

Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero.

Advanced Excel skills and financial analysis ability.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

High level of integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality.
