Our client, a reputable International School located on the Mainland, Lagos, is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable IT Support Officer to provide first-line technical support across the school community and maintain the functionality, security, and efficiency of our IT systems and infrastructure.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide the first point of IT Support contact for all Wellspring College staff, covering all hardware, software, and associated peripherals
  • Deploy computers, school technology, and associated peripherals including new installations and redeployment of existing equipment
  • Install and configure operating systems and software to agreed standards.
  • Manage the local area network and internet connection
  • Maintain existing equipment to standards, by performing upgrades, new installations, and carrying out routine procedures
  • Assist in the compilation and maintenance of an accurate inventory of hardware and software, and ensure that records are kept up-to-date within the service desk system
  • Give technical support to the school’s CCTV system
  • Ensure network security through the installation of appropriate hardware and software, as well development of IT policies
  • Manage the school’s Student management software and learning management system
  • Work with colleagues to monitor the performance of the college’s systems, ensuring that issues are appropriately escalated and resolved
  • Provide technical assistance to project teams and undertake technical project roles when required.
  • Demonstrate commitment to and promotion of a culture of service excellence and continual improvement within the IT Department
  • Provide at all times a professional, courteous, and rapid response to individual users

Job Specification

  • Minimum of B.Sc in in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in IT support or systems administration.
  • Strong knowledge of PC hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Familiarity with current operating systems, protocols, and IT standards.
  • Hands-on experience with TCP/IP, routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Practical experience with Mikrotik RouterOS, Winbox, and User Manager.
  • Proficiency in supporting Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and cloud-based applications.
  • Knowledge of Android OS, smartphones, LAN/WiFi configuration, and security best practices.
  • Experience in supporting diverse IT systems, troubleshooting, and training users.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Good research and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with a professional attitude and willingness to learn.
