The Role: Head of Social

We are seeking an elite Head of Social to take full ownership of Waifu Masters’ digital voice, presence, and community expression. This is a high-autonomy, high-accountability leadership role designed for a proven operator with sharp creative instincts, impeccable taste, and the ability to manage and scale high-performing teams.

You’ll shape the tone, rhythm, and voice of the brand across every social touchpoint — while steering strategy, guiding execution, and nurturing a team of top-tier creatives and community leaders. You will serve as a bridge between lore, product, content, and community — ensuring every post, video, and interaction reflects the uncompromising standard and cultural depth Waifu Masters is known for.

This is not a stepping-stone. This is a flagship role for someone who knows what greatness looks like and is ready to build it at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Brand & Voice Stewardship

  • Own and evolve the public-facing voice of Waifu Masters across platforms, ensuring it remains elegant, authoritative, and culturally resonant.
  • Lead the development of brand voice documentation, channel-specific tone guidelines, and standardized editorial workflows.
  • Enforce voice fidelity, consistency, and quality control across every public message and asset — from short-form captions to long-form lore summaries.

Strategy & Execution

  • Architect and oversee the full-stack social media strategy, including planning, publishing, engagement, iteration, and reporting.
  • Lead platform-specific growth strategies across Reddit, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Discord, and emerging channels.
  • Translate cultural signals, product beats, and community energy into high-impact social moments and shareable content.

Team Leadership & Creative Operations

  • Directly manage a multi-layered team of social professionals, including:
    • Reddit Manager
    • Community Manager
    • Copywriter / Voice Lead
    • Visual Content Creators
  • Establish and enforce feedback loops to continuously refine messaging, improve creative, and level up team performance.
  • Build systems that make quality scalable — without compromising voice or cultural sharpness.

Performance & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Analyze channel and content performance through platform analytics and custom dashboards.
  • Deliver executive-level reporting to the CEO and leadership team — distilling performance into actionable insights.
  • Work cross-functionally with product, lore, design, and community teams to align messaging and content strategy with broader business goals.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in a senior-level B2C social/content leadership role with proven team management responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated success managing multi-disciplinary teams, including team leads and direct creative contributors.
  • Native English speaker (this is non-negotiable) with elite-level written communication skills and native fluency in idiomatic tone.
  • Deep understanding of audience psychology, platform-specific content trends, and the mechanics of digital influence.
  • Experience crafting, defending, and maintaining a clear, differentiated, and defensible brand voice in public.
  • Impeccable attention to detail — from emoji usage to upload cadence to pixel-perfect creative assets.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance storytelling and brand-building with measurable conversion outcomes.
  • Availability for at least 4 hours of daily overlap with Japan Standard Time (JST), Monday through Friday.
  • Comfortable working in a high-performance, fast-moving environment with clear accountability expectations and a culture of excellence.
  • Skilled in building scalable processes, particularly around editorial feedback loops, content QA, and reporting infrastructure.

Bonus (Not Required but Valued)

  • Experience working in collectibles, CCGs, fandom IPs, or niche cultural spaces.
  • Background in luxury-tier or prestige product branding — you understand nuance, scarcity, and positioning.
  • Personal passion for visual storytelling, cultural mythology, or fan-driven world-building.
